Elizabeth Aretta Young (1864-1923), known as Aretta throughout her life, was born in St. Charles, Idaho, to Franklin Wheeler Young and Anna Maria Sabin. Aretta graduated from Brigham Young Academy High School in 1884 with her normal diploma. She later received a certificate in physical geography, a teacher's certificate, and Bachelor of Pedagogy degree, all from Brigham Young Academy. Aretta's professional career also began at Brigham Young Academy where she taught art and reading beginning in 1...
